04 Apr Trails To Conquer This Spring
The spring season can be a great time to get outdoors and begin your hiking season. From North York to Padstow, here are some of the best English trails to conquer this season and equipment to help you along the way.
Norfolk Coast Path
Norfolk county’s flat terrain makes hiking easy on glorious spring days. The beautiful stretch of coastal trails connecting Cromer and Sheringham are among the favourites of hikers. For example, Cromer offers picturesque Victorian houses. Then following the cliffs west, you will pass through hedgerows to breakwaters, offering the serenity of the North Sea. Beeston Bump is the highest point at 207 feet. Akin to hiking Everest on this trail, you can overlook Sheringham’s stunning views. Sheringham and Beeston are both served by trains.
South West Coast Path
As you begin the South West Coast Path walk, you can book a ferry passage across the Camel estuary from Padstow to Rock. The Cornish coast is so glorious, you could easily spend a few days there alone. A variety of English seabirds, fishing boats out for catching, and trembling cliffs are among a few of the sights on Port Isaac. So, fill your backpack with essential supplies. Moving on, you will end up at the Arthurian Tintagel Castle overlooking the Atlantic ocean. A variety of terrains means you will need the right walking gear for this wondrous trek.
Yorkshire Three Peaks
There is tremendous pressure on walkers and fell runners to conquer all three Yorkshire peaks as quickly as possible. For this particular trek, high performance Under Armour walking boots are recommended. Then you will be ready to take the two-day approach to Ribblehead before scaling Whernside’s mighty ridge. While it’s not easy, from there, you will get stunning views of Lake District falls before Ingleborough’s Iron Age hill fort. Don’t forget your drinking bottles for climbing Pen-y-Ghent when you’re ready to set out and loop back.
These Boots Are Made for Walking
At The Kit Zone, we highly recommend the Under Armor Valsetz RTS 1.5 Valsetz as a capable and supportive footwear system, whether participating in sporting activities or field exercises. These highly comfortable boots allow for fluid tactical manoeuvres while maintaining agility. In addition, the Valsetz is durable through reinforced material with ingeniously designed straps and padding. This spring, you’ll feel like these boots were made to fit your feet with UA’s patented ClutchFit ankle support system for reducing strain.
The Stuff You Want, The Things You Need
When the hiking season begins, you need to be sure you have the proper kit that won’t let you down. By far the best all-rounder for spring hiking is the full-size one-day pack. This pack is ideal for spring hikes with two large front and main compartments. Furthermore, you won’t run out of essentials as there are a variety of smaller pockets. The generously padded back and shoulder straps reduce aches and pains on a long hike by providing ultimate comfort. Also included are quick-release compression straps and strong handles for bulkier treks.
